10 Second V6 Mustang

10 Second V6 Mustang

Just like the cartoon character Jabberjaw, V6 Mustangs "don't get no respect", especially if we're talking about the aftermarket world. One tuner decided to change all this, coming up with the fastest 3.7-liter V6 'Stang in the world and they've got the quarter mile run to prove this.

The project comes from CFM Performance, who managed to pul a 10.7-second run in their yellow V6 pony. To be more specific, the results showe 10.76 at 129.85 mph (209.5 km/h), which is actually more than the stock top speed of the V6 Mustang. The company, which is based in Florida, didn't offer too many details about the project, as this is still in the development phase. All we know is the engine, which keeps the stock block, has received a turbo the size of America. 700 hp would probably be a good estimate. The car runs an automatic setup, so the transmission department has obviously received serious mods.

Many people are going to volunteer to replaced the forced induction on this Mustang with a rotten tomato diet. While it is true that strapping a huge turbo can make even a four-banger run in the 10s area (Honda Guys knows this all too well), we mustn't forget about the history - it is the V6 engine that kickstarted the pony car genre, making it affordable for the masses, so this engine does deserve some respect.

Even in stock form, it comes with a respectable 305 hp and 280 lb-ft, so while you don't get the full experience of the V8, you never feel underpowered either.

While the opinions will obviously be split, you can watch the Mustang tear up its rear drag radials in the video below.
