1. Does anyone know the offical top speed of a street triple?? I think me speedo might be lieing to me!!

3. Well admittedly I was on a bit of a misson on my way home from work tonight but looked down briefly and saw 149mph......... Didn't think it would be that quick!!

   Surely though a street doesn't do that kinda speed!! It felt bloody quick being a naked bike and I've riden my old sports bikes quicker but obviously you've got a fairing to hide behind on one of those!! Just seemed to be quick for the old girl!!

8. 149 out of a Street???...doubtful, but not impossible...probably lower 140's is more realistic...props to you, though....I bet it was a bit windy!!

    Yes it was a bit windy!!!

    I've seen low 140's before a few times and thought that was about it's limit but was quite supprised with tonights reading!!

11. All of the mag reveiws I've read have stated a gps recorded top speed of around 144mph.

13. I saw 137 on the demo STR I took out last week.

    But I have done quite a bit if weight saving by removing rear pillion hangers and swapping standard exhaust for arrows which I reckon halves the weight there(maybe just a quarter off)!

    Dont intend on doing it again, fine on a faired bike, but felt like I was going a round with Tyson! I blame the busa for goading me...but he bottled before me...I'm such a child sometimes!

15. Somethings definately up with it....... I've just seen 151mph on my way home from work today!!!!!!!!!!!!

16. don't forget they are about 6% out so that works out to around 142 corrected. Nerdy commented that the GPS recorded top speed was 144 so what you hanging around for still got 2mph to go

    Take it easy though dude i must have seen 6 marked bikes and an under cover GSXR1000 camera bike in the last fortnight.

18. To be honest it wasn't all that bad, I was tucked right in was my chin on the tank and was made alot better by having the small fly screen fitted! Obviously it's alot more comfortable on a faired sports bike, Stupid thing is I sold my GSXR750 a few years ago because I was riding it to quick and wanted to slow down!! Admittedly I'm not seeing the speeds I got up to on that but I'm bloody impressed with my little STR.

    Right well I'm off to graft a gps to my bike!!!!!!!

19. Use an iPhone app!!

    It logges the top speed, speedie ifree.

    Accurate too. Leave it in your pocket. Job done.

    Standing 1/4 mile: 11:56s @ 120.67 mph
    Standing Mile: 28.78s @ 143.16 mph
    Top Speed: 144mph.
